Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez has hit out at critics in a lengthy message posted to instagram last night. The striker’s comments come after a difficult week for international side Chile, who were defeated by both Paraguay and Bolivia in their recent World Cup Qualifying matches.
It seems that Alexis Sanchez’s problems are stretching a little further afield than The Emirates at the moment. After missing out on a potential move to rejoin former manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Sanchez has now come under scrutiny for Chile’s poor WCQ performances. Chile experienced a shock 3-0 defeat to Paraguay last Thursday, before losing 1-0 to Bolivia last night. The international side currently sit sixth in the South American qualifying group, with just two rounds left to gain a place in the top four.
Posting to instagram Sanchez said (translated): “And the moment comes when you get tired.
You get tired of them criticising you with reason or without reason, you get tired of them wanting to see you defeated, you get tired of saying to yourself I’ll pick myself up one more time after crying after a defeat, and you get tired of saying to the world and to the people who are against you that everything’s OK.”
Sanchez is expected to be back in action on Saturday, when Arsenal take on Bournemouth in the Premier League.
